Artist Residencies

Our long term residency program is currently full. If you are interested in stopping by for a visit or participating in a wood firing, please email us here or at info@cidercreekcollective.com.

Our long term residency is unique in that it is open ended. We live here with our two young children, and our artists are like members of our family. Emerging young artists move here for the experience of living and making work in a supportive environment, often finding employment, activism, outdoor activities, and a thriving social life in the local community. Many work farming, gardening, fishing, pouring wine, or in hospitality and tourism. The Mendocino Coast has always been a community of artists, so locals are excited to meet and collaborate with new arrivals. Our residents have opportunities to join local co-op galleries, farm-to-table foodie scenes, fire other local kilns, and market their work.

Established artists, mentors, and former residents return for quiet retreat, special projects, and to reconnect with our community.

Resident artists live in various cottages or the resident apartment above the studio. They make their own artwork, and work with us on building projects, in the garden, kiln building, and generally supporting each other to grow our creative life.

We can house 5 long term Resident Artists and have some accommodations for visitors. If you’re interested in getting involved, you can contact us, tell us something about your experiences in ceramics or art, and arrange to come for a visit or firing. Once we all get to know each other and consider whether we might enjoy and benefit from working together, we can keep you in mind for long term residencies. Spaces become available from time to time as residents move on. Long term residents usually stay for at least a year or two, so the decision to move here takes place over the long term as we build a working relationship.

Come visit. Participate. Make stuff.
